I have known Cindy Vervaeke for over four years as a Pilates instructor at our local community centre  and as an individual trainer. I was initially impressed by her anatomical knowledge and her clear teaching style.

Cindy has an acute eye for detail and is able to see faulty body mechanics and correct them in a timely manner. For these reasons I feel Cindy is an exceptional Pilates practioner and a wonderful asset to athletes, teens and aging bodies alike.

Cindy Vervaeke has been my Pilates instructor for more than five years and under her patient, precise and expert guidance, I have learned the techniques that have eliminated years of debilitating lower back pain and restored me to an active lifestyle. Cindy is one of only a handful of Canadian instructors who have been trained in the Ron Fletcher Pilates method, and each week, she designs and guides me through exercise routines that are tailored to my particular needs. Her studio is a relaxed and welcoming place, filled with state-of-the-art, uniquely crafted Pilates equipment. The workout sessions on the reformer, spine corrector and chair are specially designed to develop core strength and elongate the muscles groups, while working the body in alignment. I am fitter and stronger now than I have been in my whole life!

Approximately two years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Diease which has affected my left side. I started doing Pilates with Cindy approximately one year ago and since that time I have noticed that my posture has improved, my core has strengthened, I have gained more agility and felxability. The towel work that I do on a regular basis has also helped to keep my upper body from becoming rigid, which is a characteristic of Parkinsons.

I highly endorse PIlates for anyone looking to improve their overall well being.

My instructor, Cindy Vervaeke uses the expression, “physiotherapy for the fit’ to refer to Pilates. I can’t think of a better way to describe how Pilates fits into everyone’s lifestyle

I am a 47 year old mother of 2, one of which is a nineteen year old severely handicapped child. Although very fit, involved in numerous aerobic and weight bearing activities, lifting my 75 lb daughter had taken a toll on my back.

Pilates was recommended by a fitness trainer friend of mine, and after the first class I have never looked back. Pilates has helped me understand the concept of “core training” in the purest sense, and I no longer waste my time on simple stomach exercises such as ordinary sit-ups. Core strength involves not just the stomach, but most importantly the upper and lower back muscles. Pilates is not just a series of exercises, it’s a way in which to carry yourself through daily activities with a new found sense of what your body is capable of.

I have been attending Pilates classes with Cindy for over five years. I have occasionally tried other centers, specializing in Pilates, but have left after only a few classes. The instructors qualifications, practical know how, and overall teaching skills are not in the same league as Cindy.
